Since February 2008, when the nation’s largest helicopter school abruptly filed bankruptcy on the heels of the Wall Street financial crisis, financing for helicopter training has been increasingly difficult for students to obtain.
Most helicopter students secure personal loans for their training, although there are grants and scholarships available that can help, depending on your situation.
Canyon State Aero has scrupulously maintained its financial health and respect for its student’s costs since it was founded in 2006. We do not make money on any student loans or financing.
The best approach is to contact us regarding your financing needs, and we will work with you to identify your options.
VA Funding: Can Your GI Bill Cover the Costs of Helicopter Flight Training?
Yes: The GI Bill can provide reimbursements and benefits for your helicopter flight training.
As of February 14, 2017, Canyon State Aero has been granted Part 141 Certification for our Private, Instrument and Commercial helicopter training syllabus. Its been a long couple of years, but we made it!
Now that we are certified, our next steps are the submittal of our application to the VA for certification and also a college w/an aviation program. Both are currently in work, and as soon as we get these two items approved, we will announce immediately the school we’ve been granted accreditation with and our VA certification.
Canyon State Aero is very proud to be one step closer to being able to offer our services to our Veterans. Having owners and members of the Canyon State team that are veterans, we look forward to providing you with a quality education to further your career as a helicopter pilot!
